The Journey Begins... (Project A)

Welcome everybody to my new blog. As the title cunningly suggests this blog will record my ascent from NL10 to one day playing in the 'Big Game' in Bobby's Room at the Bellagio. No doubt one day in the not too distant future you shall see me on tv on High Stakes Poker with Norman Chad commenting 'Wow this kid is so cool, what does he eat for breakfast? How could he re-raise bluff Phil Ivey off his quad aces with 10 5 off suit?'. Well one day...

Anyway in the meantime I shall start by documenting the highs and lows, the joys and the travesties, the suck outs and the really sucky suck outs of playing NL10. For the unitiated NL10 is No Limit (hence NL, clever eh?) Texas Hold 'Em 10c-5c games. The minimum bet is 10c and you can buy in for no more than $10. These stakes, up to NL50 (ie the 50c-25c games) are known as micro limits. The first stage of my journey, which we shall call Project A, involves me reaching the dizzy heights of Small Stakes Poker. Project A will be split into three stages. Stage 1 will be my rise from NL10 to NL20 (you guessed it, NL20 are the 20c-10c games), Stage 2 will be my continued ascent up to NL50, and finally Stage 3 will complete my rise to Small Stakes Poker (NL100 and beyond).

I will be ably assisted in this journey by 'Broker', who has been imparting his poker wisdom to me and putting up with all my tilting and cries of 'its rigged, its rigged I tells yah!!' everytime my aces get cracked by K 4 off suit. You can read his blog here http://dominic-pokergrinder.blogspot.com/ but I have to warn you, its not as good as mine. He's a professional poker player and spends all day playing poker, watching movies on Sky Box Office and keeping the local branch of Herbies Pizza in business.

So I hope this intro gives you a taste of what to expect, I shall try to write in it at least once a week but unfortunately I am a naturally lazy person and if there happens to be a documentary on the plight of basket weavers in north-east Vietnam then I shall probably watch that instead. I will say a little bit more about myself in the next blog as I'm sure you're all dying to find out.

Adios
